Az utóbbi időben az ausztrál rendőrség igen komolyan fellépett az országban tevékenykedő hacker csoportok ellen. Legutóbbi akciójukkal a r00t-y0u.org közösségét vették célpontba.

A rendőrség elmondása szerint adminisztrációs hozzáférést szereztek a fórumhoz és a több, mint 5000 tagot számláló adatbázisból a felhasználók IP címei alapján nyomozást indítottak. Ezt az információt a fórum főoldalán is feltűntették, ezzel is alátámasztva az oldalhoz való hozzáférésüket.
A bejelentést követően a "feltört" oldal egyik látógatója hozzáfért a rendőrség azon adatbázisához, ahol a r00t-y0u.org-ra nézve terhelő adatokat tároltak. A hacker 30-40 perc alatt jutott be a rendőrség rendszerébe, azonban ennél gyorsabban is sikerült volna neki, ha "nem fogja el röhögőgörcs", ugyanis az adatbázis root jelszavát üresen hagyták a szerver üzemeltetői.
